I have been approached to build an exterior timber framed studio, I know I can build it under permitted development but do I still need to advise the local Building Control Authority in case of regulations which I may not be aware of? Thank you

Building Regs application not required if it's less than 30 sq.m. floor area and at least 1m from the site boundary.
If nearer than 1m to the boundary (and in timber), floor area limited to 15 sq. m.
Electrics must still comply with Part P.

And are also just as notifiable as if they were in a house, so new circuits, consumer unit etc.

Cheers Ban all sheds, I know building regs on electrics and will be subbing that out to a suitably qualified sparky, cheers.
