Frame for the back gate has another piece of wood for the frame to join onto into the brick work. Total width is 55mm. This extra piece has rotted away so looking for the best way to fix and try the gate up.

Would it be best to cut through the bolts holding the frame in and somehow loosen the extra piece to remove, replace and rescrew frame to wall.

Or replace the whole lot.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Or replace the whole lot.

Replace the whole lot. The section against the wall is certainly rotten, but the frame attached seems no much better. When you fix new sections, space them some way from the ground, to avoid them sitting on moisture, at the end grain.
