Is there a regulation stating you must install a carbon monoxide detector in a property if the boiler is an external boiler? The property in question is a downstairs flat. Do most people normally install one or leave it seen as the boiler is outside?

Maybe be safer too put one in then as technically there's a chance it could as there's ducting carrying the pipes between the boiler and inside the house?

Who's responsibility is it to make sure a CO detector would be installed in this case? Is it mine the electrician or the homeowners? Would I be covered if i just recommened they got a Plug in CO detector?
