I'm fitting an external drain off for my central heating system. I've drilled through the wall and soldered a drain cock to a length of pipe. I'm wondering how much pipework (if any) I should leave outside. I'm concerned about being able to replace the drain cock from outside should there be any problems with it. Am I thinking about this too hard?

The innards of the drain off can be removed and replaced so no need to worry about being able to replace the whole thing.
