I have moved into a new house which has an external security light.
When i first switched it on light light came on briefly and then went off - I assumed that the bulb had blown. I retrieved the suspect bulb which was a, halogen tube, 115mm long, 500W.

I made a trip to my local diy store and purchase a similar bulb only a 300W.

I replaced the bulb but it was still is not working.

So...

There is a fused switch for the light. But in my attempt to change the fuse i dropped it down a gap in the floor board before retrieving the relevant information from it.

So...

What fuse do i need for this light?
Does the 300W bulb (instead of 500W) cause any problems?
Any other useful or otherwise ammusing comments?!

Use a 3A fuse

The only difference is that the 300W lamp won't be as bright as the 500W one (But it will be brighter than the duff one :D )
