External Wooden Door

Hi all,

I'm looking to construct an external door which will be open to the elements. I'm wondering what the best wood would be to do this with as well as the frame?

Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.

what style off door ??
in general a ready made door is cheaper than the materials its made from

Ok.. the timbers I would use are Sapele, which is similar to Mahoghany or Iroko which is similar to teak? Both are exterior grade timbers, both have beautiful grain and can be clear varnished or stained to perfection! The materials and labour in making the door would be more expensive but if you are copying an original door or encapsulating the original glass then it will be worth it
