Folks
In the run up to moving in to our new house I'm trying to plan ahead with some of the jobs that will need doing.
Currently the loft is insulated with around 100mm fibreglass and then boarded over with chipboard which has carpet offcuts laid on top. (see 'current' image)
I plan on topping up the insulation - having read around it sounds like I can lay kingspan/celotex across the joists and then reinstate the chipboard above (we want to use the loft for a bit of light storage) - see 'future' image.
Questions:
1) Is what I'm looking to do worth doing (loft is c. 42 sq m, detached 1930's house)?
2) Is what I'm planning feasible?
3) Do I run the risk of trapping damp in the existing fibreglass insulation?
Finally any other bright ideas?
Cheers!
