Have a standard oil boiler system here gravity Fed non pressurised rads. Come across this pump which is at other end of house. I don't think it's working as it's not spinning up with ch on. We have a small red pump near boiler which is running.

This green pump at the end of the house bout 10metres away on ground floor bungalow.

Problem is it's right in the way of a partition wall so I want it out the way.

A should it be working as in it is required?

Is the left hand side pipe connected to anything, looks like it is blanked off from here. You could see if the power cable is live with a volt pen or even better a meter.

Left hand side returns to wall both sides get warm with ch on. Will check for voltage with meter

No idea it looks like an old immersion heater timer to me. Like there may well used to be a tank here too. Some cut off pipes in flpor

Oh cripes just 're seated 3amp fuse and the timer has sprung into life. Now if I twist the timer to on the pump is wirring.

Now..is this some form of booster for the central heating to help the main pump at the boiler end?

This timer has 2 on off zones is it meant to run in synch with the main boiler and pump I guess?

Sorry to harp on about the pipes either side of the pump and maybe it`s just the angle of the photo but where does that pipe from the pump on the left near the cut pipe coming out of the floor go as it doesn`t disappear through any wall.

Here we go with flash I think this then runs under wall to ensuite towel rad.

One end may go to the towel rail, but not both ends.

It could be a way of heating up the towel rail in the summer, when the CH is off. You would need to trace the pipes to confirm this.

I assume you haven't been in the house very long. You could always try getting in touch with the previous owner, via the agents, and get the necessary information.
