Hi
My shower room light and timed extractor fan have run happily for many years, but when I now turn off the light, the fan keeps going for much longer than usual. It appears that it will only stop when I take the bulb out of the light fitting. Is this likely to be a problem with the lighting unit, the fan, the pull cord or something else?

It sounds like there's a fault in the timer circuit.

If the fan is old then you'll probably find that spares are hard to get. A new fan, of a decent quality, e.g. an Xpelair DXT100T, will cost you around £30. IMHO it ain't worth a second thought.
