Extractor fan - core drilling 125 mm hole

^used one of these

I drilled the 150mm hole for my cooker hood extractor with a 36v Bosch SDS drill, it worked ok but admittedly cut out halfway but the drill is very well used and 10 years old. I got there with a bit of persuasion and had to give the drill an hours rest. If I do it again I would defiantly use a mains powered drill as it eats batteries doing this sort of drilling. Use it on non hammer setting also.

Have used this in the past: https://www.toolstation.com/tct-core-drill/p69846 Only £13 for the core drill, core adapter and core pilot drill. You need an SDS drill as well but I already had one of those. Worked fine on for me a block wall but many of the reviews are bad so probably no good for getting through harder material.

How did you drill a 125mm diameter hole with that ?
