Hi,

I have an extractor fan in my kitchen, the problem is that it exhausts the air back into the room rather than taking it outside.

So I want to get a hole made and vent fitted onto the outside wall then connect this to the extractor fan via some ducting.

I have thought about trying to do it myself but I have decided against taking that risk ; so what kind of tradesperson would I ask to do this job ? I tried asking my electrician and carpenter but they both said they didn't do that kind of thing, so I am really confused now as to who might do that kind of thing.

Anyone with a large size core cutter and drill. Those who fit boilers or toilets for example.

However probably easier and cheaper to go and hire the tool for a couple of hours. They are not difficult to use.

Depends on the route to the outside, mine goes up thru ceiling and out thru eaves [ground floor extension] so no core drill was required.

If you need to find a tradesperson to get your job done, please try our local search below, or if you are doing it yourself you can find suppliers local to you.

Select the supplier or trade you require, enter your location to begin your search.
