A customer has condensation problems in her larder room. Would a extractor fan with humidistat solve this problem and could you recommend any makes or types please.
Thank you.
It might make it worse - if the larder walls are cold, and by using a fan you drag more air into the space (possibly extra-warm, moist air from the kitchen?) you could get more condensation.
Has it always been a problem, or is it a new phenomenon?
Is it just condensation, or is there a larger damp problem?
I've asked the mods to move this to Building - it's not an electrical problem.
It won't solve anything, a humidistat measures the moisture in the air (steamy bathroom), your moisture is localised on the walls, constant airflow will help (airbrick at bottom and another at the top. Making the walls warmer by thermal lining is the cure, but it costs lots of money.
