i am puting a 6 inch fan above my cooker and out through the wall, can i run a cable in a couduit/trunking off the light in the ceiling so when i put the light on the fan starts.?or do i need to wire it off the light switch?
cheers

You could, but then the fan only activates when the lights are on. Something that on a bright sunny Sunday brunch make shouldn't be necessary.

I'd suggest a switched fuse spur off the kitchen ring or a switched spur off the lighting LNE would be a better 'design' solution.

No doubt you are aware of Part P requirements
