Can someone please offer some advice. I've just had a flexi-pipe burst that's connected to the sink. The house is mains fed all over so I believe its the pressure that has caused this as the flexi is only 3 yrs old. Is there a way of reducing the pressure on the whole system to prevent a repeat occurance. I can't see that just turning down the stop cock will make any difference as the pressure will remain the same. I can't spend my life indoors waiting for the next burst so need to get this sorted. Thanks.

Congratulations on understanding that turning your stopcock down won't decrease the pressure, this simple fact seems to confound most people!

As for your problem, you require a pressure reducing valve, available from all good plumbing merchants. Get one with a gauge so you can see its set right
