Hi All
Hope someone can help suggest what to do with our walls please...
We bought a terraced house last year that was built in 1962 and hasn't really been touched since the 70s from the look of it.
Problem is we have now stripped the wallpaper in the huge lounge (23'5" x 14'8") and the 'plasterboard' underneath is really weird - it seems to basically be some sort of cardboard with an extremely thin layer of something over the top, a lot of which has come off with the paper
We don't have a lot of money so can't really afford to get a plasterer in, hubby did plaster our kitchen but its rough and ready and he not happy doing whole lounge. Am after suggestions of what to do to improve the finish without spending loads - am concerned that just painting is going to look rubbish.
Is there such a thing as textured internal paint, or can we maybe add a proportion of plaster to paint to improve the finish? You can see the joins between each panel of the wall and the little bits of exposed 'cardboard' look hideous!
Sorry for such a long post but really hope someone can help us please
