Teams will not be too happy with this unilateral declaration...

5.19 Electric mode :
The car must be run in electric mode (no ignition and no fuel supply to the engine) at all times when being driven in the pit lane.

dont think it will be a problem
regenerate braking and battery driven pump for the hydraulics

I supose so, but more weight. More relays/servos posssibly.
More to go wrong :D Sorry blame :D :D :D

Why let 'em pit in the first place? When races are decided by who gets their refuelling / tyre swaps right (in 200 miles, gawd help us!), it's a bit of a farce.
Unless I've completely misunderstood the point - I was operating under the illusion that the objective was to identify the best driver, and best (fastest thing that will last the distance) car......

Should make the braking intresting to say the least!

Why? Electric powered cars have been around for years..They suffer no issues with braking.

Electric powered trains, need greater breaking power, but have been around since the 1950's?

its to do with the fact that everything at present relys on hydraulic pressure
gears brakes gear change starting etc

Thanks for saving me having to correct the person again, it does get rather boring.
