Faded Alarm Bell Box

The bell box on the front of my house is about 15 years old and has faded to a very off white. Not sure at this stage whether it is metal or plastic. Is it possible to paint this with a simple exterior paint? If so prefer to avoid spending £10 when very little paint is required. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

they can be painted. Plasticote or similar spray can give a reasonable finish, better than brushwork. It is essential to get it very clean and remove any loose or eroded surface first. If it is steel you must treat it against rust.

If you can get a new one for £10 it could be worth it.

Car spray paint. Few £ a can from halfrauds.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into a replacement box but if not a trip to Halfords on the cards.
