I have recently moved into a new property with a FLAT fireplace wall.
I would like to have a FALSE chimney breast built (for character)
and then install a "living flame gas fire" into the "fireplace".
I hav'nt a clue how this can be done.
What does the false chimney breast need to be made of, etc to make it heat/fire proof. Also, are there any regulations on this ?

ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

THANK YOU

You can get a GSR RGI to fit twin skin flue & a fire box in your new false chimney mate.

Just frame it out with 89x38mm CLS & clad with 12.5mm gyproc/plasterboard.

I fitted a wood fire surround, tiled inside it, laid a hearth, and got a free standing electric stove that looks, very convincingly, like a woodburner.

I didn't create a false chimney breast, and it looks just fine without it.
