Im currently building a false stud wall in bathroom.the bathroom wall will have a shower fitted and tiled.what is the best meterial to use to fit to the stud wall.i.e moisture resistant ply or plaster board.?

i would go with marmox tile backer board mate, or at least an equivalent

just where the shower will be, or along the hole stud wall in the bathroom where the tiles will be.
personally i would just use it in the areas that will get wet, use plasterboard in the other areas

how thick would it need to be, is it the same thickness as plasterboard.can you tile direct to plaster board?many thanks.
to be quite honest with you i have only ever used 12.5mm marmox, and you can get 12.5 mm PB, that would keep your walls the same.Yes you can tile directly onto PB (plasterboard)
