I am redoing my fan install as the trunking I had Gripfilled to the roof had come away due to the suns rays. :(

Can I ask you fellas how you like to hide the cable feeding the fan / light and how you get a permanent fix to the trunking.

the bars are generally hollow section, so you might be able to
drill it and fish the wire through...

In our conservatory, along the apex underneath is a plastic form that is screwed into the glazing bars with plastic cap screws. Unscrew this and underneath (on top) is a cavity. Run your cable along this, you can gaffa tape it to the middle if you want, so it wont foul the re-fixing of the plastic form, and it wont get damaged.

If it is an apex style roof the central bar will be hollow as stated by Coljack, simply drill and secure your trunking with self tapping screws then snap the cover in place.

(After running your cables in of course!  )

Thanks for replies lads and will look into it over the holiday. Don't think the bars are hollow but will check.
