FAO Seco!!

2 cables 1 is CN5 and one is CN6 on pcb both going to seperate prongs on the can elements.

i can't remember that but seen so many and thats not really an issue here.

all we useally do is
2 prongs with 2 seperate lives
2 prongs with 1 neutral joined together.

hold one probe on the neutral all the time.
other probe on one live prong - reading.
then move probe to other live prong reading.

always read from the top of elements. cause you can have a faulty cable in between.

Just done that and got 13.8 to 14 ohms on 1 prong and OL on other.

Does tht mean it's knackered? and why is the solonoid showing OL?

yes useally would tell me the element is faulty.
do a continuity on the same element.
does the shower never get to full hot temp ?
faulty element will useally trip the main fuse aswell.
didn't think you had a temp issue as well.

if the solenoid is not giving any resistance then also tells me it's faulty
ie no water flow. they are about £15 that can be why your LP neon was playing up solenoids don't always just fail they can give LP for a while before failing, but with a faulty solenoid giveing LP the water flows usealy stops.
you said you had LP but water only went cold.

No continuity on same element which is suspect and solonoid maybe shot no restance.

Yes The water temp did get cold a couple of times before and then a couple of times it tripped the RCD ring when turned on, now just a whirring sound and nothing , no flow of water at all.
Just tried it again with front off and RLI top relay is flashing when I pressed the on button with power going to the unit.
Bottom relay is fine.

Damn this is getting ridiculous

the default setting when the start/stop button is pushed on is high setting both elements working so yes a faulty element would trip rcd straight away.

you def have a faulty solenoid.
so no water flow sort of puts an end to your tests.
heat cans about £40

How much for a full shower same one? or would it be better to buy can and solonoid £70 odd if I'm right,
I'm talking in terms of if the pcb goes in say a year or so.
Where best to get these parts anyway.

And thanks for the replies once again.

Got a new heat can and it sorted it, the solonoid was OK, I was turning the shower on with isolater off  .

Thanks Seco for helping and saving me a ton at least :D
Buy you a coffee someday
