Hello there

Hope someone is out there who can help with an annoying tap problem. I have a mixer tap in the kitchen. The cold water tap is working fine however the hot water tap is temperamental at best. It's normally just dribbles hot water though occasionally there is a better flow. I did try cleaning the insides of the tap but it made no difference.

Anyway I hope someone could help. I also need this explaining in simple terms as my grasp of plumbing is not too good.

I've also attached some pictures to see if that helps.

Thanks very much for any help :) [/img]

I have but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. I did put some pictures up under my profile but I'm not sure if they were clear enough. I have been told previously though that it was probably the washer. Presuming it is the washer is it quite easy fitting it in?

Very easy to change on that sort of tap, and its almost defiantly the washer. Turn of the hot water (have you got a combi? if so just turn off the cold or isolate at boiler. Have you got a tank? Find gate valve and shut off) Then using a pair of grips unscrew the tap barrel (the brass bit) from the tap body while holding against yourself. The washer will be at the bottom of the tap barrel. Replace it.
