Hey guys,

im new to the forum and after some simple advice...

ive currently installed a Heat n Light lamp for my bathroom.

http://www.qvsdirect.com/750W-Bathroom-Heater-Light-Unit-pr-22236.html

it says on the manufacturers instructions its recommended to install an FCU. I was wondering can I just use a 6amp or 16amp double pole switch pull cord instead of notifying building control and coming off a ring main?

would this be a suitable requirement for building regulations?

cheers

No - you should do what the maker says.

a) you are arguably not being reasonably safe if you don't, which contravenes the Building Regulations,

b) the unit will swallow up more than half of the capacity of a lighting circuit.
