I want to fit a light in my porch. The most convenient place to pick up a feed would be the consumer unit. Is it acceptable practice to connect to the same breaker as the downstairs lights? To me it seems no different to connecting into a ceiling rose or JB. Putting in a dedicated breaker seems over the top. Obviously the neutral would have to be paired with the neutral on the existing circuit.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

PS In the end I istalled a 13A FCU in the bedroom above the porch and fed it from there.
