Hi,

I am currently building an extension to an old property. It was fed with a black alkathene pipe, ½" if I remember?
I have added a run of 20mm alkathene as I needed to re-route the pipe around the extension and I added a mdpe stopcock as a temporary fix so i dont annoy the neighbours as we share the main.
I have a brass stopcock in the middle of the old house and its hard to access.

What I wanted to do was add another stopcock in the extension, leave the old one open and leave it alone.

My question is, is there anything wrong with having a MDPE stoptap as the indoor stopcock? (Under kitchen units)
Also, as this would be the new stopcock, what size copper would be best fitted after it? Bearing in mind that this would essentially be a T from the main feed with the other going into the main house to the old stopcock?
I wanted to fit 22mm copper but am mindful that this would be the first T off the feed. ie, would it be better to have it in 15mm so not too affect the flow rate to the main house?
The floor mounted boiler will be next to the new feed in the extension.

Hope I have explained it clearly enough ☹
Thanks
J
