Felling a tree technique

Been waiting for right advice to pop back and finish job.
Were you not given suitable advice early in the thread? Trees like this don't fall like they do in the cartoons you saw as a kid, where a triangle is chopped out of the trunk and away it goes in exactly the direction you cut

Show a picture of the entire tree, so we can assess just how much of a problem is present and how to deal with it
 
It's surprising it's still standing. I would have thought a strong wind might have taken it.

The photo shows the back cut to have been closed off. That tends to suggest it is going to fall the wrong way. A rope was suggested. Fine. You'd need a gang of people all pulling at it at the same time. A winch might be good to keep a constant pressure on it. Attaching a chain to a truck would be better. Though, there remains a risk that a tree so heavy might pull the tow bar clear off the vehicle.
