Felt Flashing

Hi,
I am getting a flat roof renewed and was discussing with the roofer about flashing. I asked for a lead flashing but am being told that "With regards to the flat roof and the lead flashing, we wouldn’t recommend using lead but would use felt flashings, reason being the lead will outlive the felt by many years. I’ve attached a photo showing the detail of the felt flashings. If you would prefer for us to use a lead flashing with lead sealant, it would be an additional £xx+VAT but we would deem felt flashings more than sufficient." I have been sent below as an example, what are your thoughts?

The roofer is correct.

And if you get a job like in the photo, you should be pleased.
