Hello folks.
I'm fitting a new bathroom suite and I'm looking for 2 compression connectors for the Bath Mixer Tap.
My local plumbing merchant gave me 2 x 22mm compression Female Couplers to connnect the copper pipe to the tap.
I've been looking through the Screwfix catalogue and came across 22mm x 3/4" compression Straight Tap Connectors.
Can anyone tell me what's the difference between a 22mm Female Coupler and a 22mm Straight Tap Connector and is any connector better than the other?
Thanx in Advance

The flexible connectors are easier to connect to each end however they usually have a smaller internal bore so you lose out on flow, however you can purchase flexis with a larger bore.

The standard tap connector means you can run 22mm pipe all the way up to the tap.

Does your mixer have externally threaded tails, internally threaded holes or just plain pieces of pipe to connect to?

Tap connectors fit the parallel male thread of a tap tail. The watertight seal is achieved by a soft washer bearing on the end of the tap tail.

Flexible tails come in a variety of forms. Some have externally threaded ends that screw directly into holes in the bottom of some taps.

Plain pipe tails can be connected straight into pushfit or compression fittings.

Female Iron connectors are made to fit a tapered male iron thread, and are sealed by wrapping the male thread in PTFE tape.
