At least 80 people were killed and 160 injured in an attack near the Sayed Ul-Shuhada school in the kabul last month

yet female pupils and teachers say they are determined to continue there education in a country were girls were blocked from going to school under the mad fruit cakes;) rule from 1996 to 2001

The US and other western nations have promoted girls education as one of the key successes of foreign presence

but the situation is deteriorating as they make plans to leave the country and the mad fruit cakes;) are poised to take over ??????????

You can't force people to become 'civilised'. It's the mindset of the majority of Afghans that results in their society being oppressive

These old and paternal societies will not change due to military action. The 'mad fruit cakes' as you put it are a representation of the majority of society. If 90% of Afghans were opposed to Talibanisation then it could never happen

However, I do believe these societies will change to be more civilized as we see it. The advent of the internet will be a big player in that. When they can see how the other side live it will cause a motivation to change IMO.

change will come, but bombing them is not a solution.. in fact will slow it down

90% of the worlds opium comes from Afghanistan.

It's where the Taliban get their revenue.

Saudi Arabia and the Americans financed Islamic religious schools in Pakistan.
They portrayed the Russians as Godless communists and armed the religious fanatics of the Taliban.

You forgot the Russians, they started it which allowed the mad mullahs to climb the tree of power
The Taliban only came into being five years after the Soviets pulled out. After the Soviets withdrew they blocked oil supplies leading to the collapse of the legacy government and the US lost all interest as their only desire was to kill Russians by proxy.

Leaving a burned out shell of a country with no infrastructure or industry, where the only significant external force were the Muslim religious foreign fighters such as Osama Bin Laden. Surprisingly it didn't turn out well.

They were Mujahideen before.

So there was a different name for the local militias and private armies, committing to driving out foreign armies in the tradition that goes back thousands of years, and to building their idea of a national culture, as passionate patriots or rabid terrorists, depending on your point of view.

What were they called in Kipling's day?

What were they called when they were fighting Alexander the Great? Bactrians? Indian Moghuls? Persians? Ghengis Khan? The Sikhs? The British Empire? The Soviet Empire? America? Which invader defeated them?

Have you spotted the pattern yet?

We lost the first, won the second, lost the third and mostly lost the fourth. Which given we're taking about War with Afghanistan is a pretty good result.
Back then they were the Durrani empire, they became Afghanistan after they beat us in the third war.
