Hi all,

Finally getting round to starting work on the garden in the house we bought last year and we want to erect some sort of fence for more privacy, however the majority of the garden has a 1.2m wall around - the back wall is brick (roughly 6m) and the side wall is stone (just under 12m)

I quite like the walls so would rather not cover them up fully so was thinking of some sort of fencing above the walls to extend up to around 1.8m tall.

Do you think both of these walls could take posts being attached to them or should we just dig the posts into the ground & cement in?

We like the horizontal batten style fence and the battens I've seen come in 2.4m lengths - what's the recommended spacing for fence posts?

Is there anything else I should consider?

Some pics attached!

Cheers!
Phil
