You have to understand that we only have your words to use to try to diagnose the fault. Without being able to do our own tests that involved a lot of guesswork.
As you did not "knock the boiler off" as you originally said then different aspects would come into play to diagnose the problem.
On your boiler, the fan runs continuously to supply clear air to the pilot and to cool the boiler from the heat generated by the pilot flame. If you remove the electricity you should turn off the gas so the pilot goes out.
At least its working now. We charge £84 for a repair and come the same day when possible. A service at £55 is fitted in when we can and usually at least a week after being called to deter people with faults rather than a routine service. We only replace parts that are faulty and clean fans, plate HEs and repair some diverter valves depending on the type.
