In a previous thread my faulty nearside flashing indicators (plus faulty remote locking) has been traced to a dodgy multi function control unit. Not wanting to buy a new from Fiat I'm trying to source one from a local scappie or eBay. I have been told that if I manage to find one the unit might have to be 'coded.' What does this actually entail? Presumably it will cost? Any way round it?

It depends on what info it holds, some require coding some dont.
I changed a bsi unit on my missus mini and although it didnt need coding as such it held the remote locking codes, i got a local electronics guru to sort this out.
