We've been in a fibre desert for what seems like forever but it looks as though we're finally getting a fibre connection (current speeds ~30mb)

My question is regarding the in-house connection and what can I do to prepare. We had a major house refurb in 2024 and I moved the router under the stairs, installed a mesh network and ran Cat6 from the external incoming cable connection direct to the router and then via a switch to the main mesh station (plus an extra Cat6 direct to the TV)

If I have a new fibre connection to the house then whilst I get the practical benefit of moving the router and switch upstairs into the loft I then have a much more painful process when rebooting and resetting (a frequent occurence as we have frequent power outages)

What speed differential am I practically looking at with keeping the existing in-house Cat6/copper vs moving the router into the loft?

Regards

Tet

Dont bother, my fibre connection is in the bedroom, cat 6 into the loft then back into the lounge for the main router. Wifi at the top of the garden with mesh is 745 mb/sec.
