I have a Sony 1080 line camcorder.

I expect it will output in 625 line if set as well.

Will any usually installed programs with Vista enable me to grab still shots from the video?

If not then what free or cheap programs are required?

I need this to get a still picture showing me repairing a GlowWorm 30ci boiler whilst wearing a checked shirt because Softus has asked to see one!

a suggestion.

since ypou have a cam corder, did it not come with software to allow you to edit it on a pc? (mine came with some basic prog)

if so does this not allow you to take a still?

OR

can you watch the camcorder on your pc? if so what happens if you press the print screen button? I am thinking that you can then open MS paint, press cntrl & v and paste the screen shot into paint, save it, then upload the picture to your diynot album

OR

show the camcorder on your tv, press pause, and take a pic with digital camera (you will probably get a stripe) but at least we can see the shirt which you mention

Tony,
If you can pause the screen at the point you want, you can use Vista's "snipping tool" to save what 's on the screen. The snipping tool can be found by START, ACCESSORIES, SNIPPING TOOL.

I will investigate those possibilities Breezer.

My version is Vista Home edition and it does not seem to have any snipping tool ???

I only get accessories by going to show all progs first!

Thanks

Tony
