Hi, I need to fill a 3" Sq hole, about 1.5" deep. It's an internal masonry wall. I will need to screw into it using wall plugs to hang a lamp. Any suggestions on how to this?

when you say "Masonry", do you mean stone? Or do you mean brick, or lightweight concrete block?
for background, why is the 3" hole there? Anything to do with an electrical backbox?
Does the 1.5" include the plaster, and how thick is it?
