Due to water damage I removed a section my bathroom floor with the intention of replacing the damaged floor with plywood so i could retile over the top. Unfortunately there is a polyester/plastic membrane under the floor so I can't fix the plywood with screws. I am thinking about pouring some self levelling mixture or cement into the hole to file it up, possibly fix some 6mm plywood to that, then retile. Is that a wise thing to do or is there another solution?

not come across this before. however i would just go with your 1st thoughts and use plywood. i would pilot drill the fixing holes and then fill with silicon sealant before putting the screws in.

i presume you’re upstairs so the weight of cement and the like does not site well for me
