Filling interior and exterior door frame gaps

After having a new door and frame fitted, I have 1cm+ wide and 2cm+ deep gaps both inside and outside either side of the door frame.

Is Toupre interior for inside and Toupre exterior for outside good enough here? Expanding foam was used but some are quite large/wide gaps and I have only used both for smaller patching. I was considering mortar than skimming for inside but if Toupre interior and exterior are good enough alone I will happily go for this?

For remaining mm gaps and to seal I plan on using a good external frame sealant that I have used in the past (e.g. everbuild).

Sorry, I was just looking at unanswered posts and wondered how you got on?
Personally, I would have filled the gap with expanding foam and then covered it with uPVC cloaking trim.
Definitely not as neat as taking filler to the door, but theres no chance of future cracks showing!
