the combi i am having fitted is a w/b greenstar 28i, the manual says that a filling loop is optional so is it worth having ,what are the advantages and disadvantages ,and how much extra work is involved.

judging by your other posts in this forum it seems to me that you are geting ready to install a gas fired appliance. You obversely are not corgi regerstered or even understand simple plumbing terminology, So the best advice i can give you is... for the sake of mankind stuff the expense and get a regerstereed installer in.

i wouldn't be on these boards if i knew what i was doing dick * ***. of course i am going bto get an installer to fit it but i am just trying to get as much info as i can from some experts so i don't get ripped off.so i will assume you don't know the answer to my query then, thanks for your help DICK.

The w/b 28i comes with an internal connection between the cold water supply and the internal pipework in the boiler as standard. To comply with current water regulations, there should be a filler loop fitted with a non-return check valve on it, that is what the optional feature is on the boiler :) Your choice, if you you want to comply with all of the water reg's...a reputable installer would tell you this anyways....
