Filling old electrical back box holes in solid walls

Hi all, I need to move/remove some existing sockets/switches and will be left with back box depth holes in solid walls.

What's the best practice to fill them?

Is it ok to use a bonding coat to a couple of mm shy of level, then some easifill over the top?

Sand-able foam, trimmed and skimmed with filler works well.

I use pieces of breeze block cut to size (5mm smaller all around and depth) and stick it in with mortar.
Once dry a bit of skimming filler to go flush with existing plaster.

back box depth holes in solid walls.

Take the box out, reverse and put back in.
Now it's only a thin skim of plaster over the top.
