Finding a 4.5 inch backset mortice

Hi JohnD,
Thanks for the offer but like jacko555 I’ve come to the conclusion that if I can’t find a replacement then a shorter rather than longer backset is the way to go, it’s not a door that requires a keylock so there is some room there to shorten, it’s just still a lot more effort than a simple switch! I was hoping maybe jacko555 (if he is still active) or someone else might have resolved the issue in an easier way or found a source for a 4.5in backset in the years that had passed!
