Hi,
My house had an existing loft conversion when we bought it, which was quite old and therefore does not meet current building regs, particularly the need to have a fire door closing it off from the rest of the house.
This is something we'd like to do for our own safety, as well as for when we resell the house.
However, due to the layout of the house, there isn't an easy place to put a conventional door. The staircase from the loft comes down to a small rectangular landing, turns around 180deg, down 2 more steps, and into hall with door immediately off to left to bedroom.
Are there alternative fireproof doors that we could use? E.g. bifold? or door that could slide into wall (which would bisect the landing).?
Hope this is clear enough..!
Thanks
R.
