Fire door for protected stairway

Hello all, I'm after some advice. Fire door guy installed door and frame on Monday, a family member has already paid him. I have concerns about the job! Initially he said he would do the fire door including frame and that there would be some holes to patch over which I agreed I would. However looking at the pictures (I'm away right now) this looks a lot more than patching to me. Also there is no threshold at the bottom which he insists is not needed. Google AI says otherwise and I've requested clarification from local building control.

Also the promised fire installation certificate has not been received yet which I was told would be same day.

I'm hoping I could get some feedback from any fire door experts here. Thank you in advance
