Hi all,
If anybody could give advice on internal fire doors it would be much appreciated.
We need to replace our bedroom and lounge doors with FD 30 doors to meet fire regs after loft conversion.
The existing bedroom doors are approximately 706mm wide x 1965mm high.
The closest matching size I can find is from Wickes and is 686mm x 1981mm
So its 20 mm too narrow, and 15 mm too tall and is only trimmable by 5mm bottom and 3mm either side according to their website. We could pad the door frame out a bit for the width, but I'm not sure how difficult it is to increase height of the door frame by 20mm?
Does anybody know where we can find a closer matching size?
I thought about using fire proof paint which the building inspector is happy with. But we would like to replace the existing handles anyway as they are ugly. So replacing the doors as well is not much more as the fire proof paint works out at £70 per door anyway.
I've attached a couple of pics of existing bedroom door
