Any Opinions?

Have a couple of rooms that are going to be redone. 2 choices -

Replace Rebate door frames with Frames with the fire strip in them, and the new fire doors (frames adjusted to no trimming on sides required)

Keep the old frames, New fire doors, trim as required (Need to plain the doors a little on the sides) router the grove for the fire strip on the doors, and fit the hinges and locks to match the old grooves on the frames.

The existing frames have a few decades of being repainted, in theory could be sanded and painted to clean them up, nothing actually wrong with them, but rooms are being refurbished, and new doors are going on.

I'd guess new frames would be a little less work (I may be wrong?)

TIA
