I need a 1/2 hour fire door between our new kitchen and the garage conversion.

B&Q have a range of firedoors at a god price (From £45).

What sort of door frame door I need?

They also sell intumescent strips, do these fit into the frame?

a firedoor frame will have no sill, and will have an 8mm ish wide channel cut out of the door re-bate, into which the intumescent strip should be fitted.

The frame needs to have wider stops (20mm) for it to be 1/2 hr rated, and these should be machined from the frame section and not plant on

You don't need intumescent strips, but it may be wise to fit them. They can go in the door or the frame.
