Fire risk of installing cooker in understairs cupboard?

(I'm not convinced this is the best section to post in, but it doesn't seem to fit directly in any...!)

Would installing a cooker (electric oven and microwave seperates) into an understairs cupboard be considered a bad idea? The corner of our kitchen has a cupboard into which a normal 600mm housing will fit nicely, making the job quite easy.

My concern is the potential heat/ignition source that could trigger fire in the exposed timber, blocking the upstairs escape route.

Anyone have any thoughts/opinions about this?

(Putting Part P electrical issues aside for now; assume this will be done legit).
