Good Morning all,

Just a quick question (which may not have a quick answer!)
for a loft conversion (from 2 floors to 3 floors), building regs i believe require interconnected fire/smoke alarms.

Can these be smoke detectors connected to a house burglar alarm?
The house alarm would be mains powered, with its own battery backup, and the system would be interlinked in terms of any one smoke/fire detector would set off the full house alarm.

Is this doable, or does it have to be standalone fire system (be it interlinked detectors or linked back to a fire panel.

There is no reason why the alarms can not also be wired to an alarm system. The requirement is for them to be mains powered, interlinked and have a battery back up. If they are, then the installation will be OK
