We have taken out a coal fire, to reveal the large (original) builders stone opening, prior to fitting a multi-fuel stove. Just a few questions, to help us proceed. Firstly, what is the best way to clean soot from the stone (some are badly stained). Secondly, where can you buy limestone mortar, and how is it applied. Finally, the header stone is very badly marked, any ideas for covering it up.
