Hi

I have an old Baxi underfloor vent fireplace that I intend to use fair bit and am doing the cosmetics. Have got a good Pine surround that looks the business but am struggling with the stone surround. I have procured a snooker table slate that has ample area for the job and will get it cut buy a local mason shortly. However I'm wondering whether its the right stuff to be using and how to fix it to the chimney breast. I'm also wondering how to fix the surround to the wall.

Any advice gratefully received

Yours blessedly Brian

I did one recently (about 10 months ago) and used door frame fixing screws for the wooden surround and pink grip fill on the hearth and back plate, bloomin marvellous, I feel sorry for the poor sod who trys to remove it one day!
