Hi Everyone, hope you are doing well.

I have had a load bearing wall removed and an rsj installed to support the first floor joists. I had a few issues with the builder while the work was carried out as he decided not to follow the SE plans for the padstone but we finally got there.

The job has now being completed however I have noticed some of the first floor joist are not resting on the RSJ (see pics). Should the joists be packed? Can they still be packed correctly with the steel in situ?

Your help and opinions are much appreciated!

Vince
